ABOUT OUR CURRICULUM

Our daily routine and curriculum exist within an age-appropriate, play-based program that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). The EYLF is a play-based and relationship-based approach to early childhood education and care. For more information on EYLF click here and for a copy of our curriculum click here.

ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS

Play-based learning

“What is play-based learning? Children are naturally curious about the world around them. They experience and come to understand the world and their place in it through play. Creating opportunities for children to explore, experiment, question and discover new concepts about the world in playful ways is central to their learning, development and wellbeing.” For more information on play based learning click here .

Relationship based practice

Our team have all completed Circle of Security training. The Circle of Security approach emphasizes the importance of relationships in early childhood. At Urunga Community Preschool we prioritise relationships with children and between children as we know that strong healthy relationships are fundamental to children’s wellbeing and capacity to learn and grow. Transition to school

We have a close relationship with our local school, Urunga public school, with whom we enjoy regular visits. Our preschool feeds other local schools including Repton and Raleigh public schools. We support children’s holistic learning, development and wellbeing with age-appropriate experiences that are challenging and fun. “Children who experience a positive transition to school are more likely to feel comfortable, relaxed and motivated to learn.
